Easier than everyone told you
They sleep through most of it. Fly while they still nap on you, keep one home base, and bring more diapers than feels reasonable.
Flying with a baby
Currently traveling with Addie, 5 & Eloise, 3
I'm Kiersten — mom of two little girls and your guide to trips that actually work with car seats, nap schedules, and snack emergencies in tow.
Every guide here has been run through the real test: two little girls, a stroller, and a nap schedule.
The trip that works at four months is not the trip that works at four years. Start where you actually are.

Flying with a babyToddlers · 1–2 years
This is the stretch people warn you about. Shorter travel days, one big thing per day, and snacks within arm’s reach the whole time.

They remember it now. They carry their own backpack, ask for the pool, and tell you about it for months. Soak it up.

HawaiiDisney's resort on Oahu is the rare place that works for a preschooler, a toddler, and two parents who would also like to sit down. Here's how we did it.
MotherhoodIf you've ever thought "I want to travel, but not until the kids are older" — this one is for you. Six steps to your first trip.
Beach weeksThe diaper trick, the sand trick, and the snack trick that have saved more beach days than I can count. Learned the hard way, mostly.

Us, most weeks
Everyone told us to travel before the baby came, because after that it would be years before we went anywhere. Addie took her first long-haul flight at five months old. Eloise was one month old on her first trip.
It was not always easy. Easier isn't better, though — and the little years turned out to be the best time we could have picked. I'll show you how we do it: the flights, the naps, the meltdowns, all of it.
Where we've been, what actually worked, and the little-years stuff nobody warns you about. Sunday mornings, with your coffee.
